Softly are organizing a photography exhibition
"Inside Outside" to be held at a venue in Barcelona
in June.
The theme We live in an indifferent universe,
which we invest with rationality through laws,
art, morality, religion and rituals. We are meaning
giving machines. There is always a way to give
meaning to something, which at first sight seems
impossible to understand.
The artists at this exposition are referring
each in their own manner to this process. They
are playing with the gap between language, image
and reality, creating images that help us connect
that what we observe and what we feel.
Artists
Nikolas Meinert Theilgaard
Nikolass images have been made before.
They are part of a history. Driven by a fascination
with the uncertainty of what the subject is; a
confusion with what is really being looked at
and an attempt at showing what isnt there.
A search for the sublime deprived of a wish to
find it. Carrying out this search is maybe the
thing photography does best of all.
Martin M - Aleñar
Inside outside - Martins Photos examine
the difference between the local and the foreigner,
they question the asumption that who are you is
who other think you are. Most of the time you
dont know whether your outside or inside.
The world has a factual dimension, and this frontier
of a volume is a surface. He questions certainties,
distrusts absolute mathematical and scientific
values. Influenced by the Cinematic photography
of Hitchcock, representations of diabolical pathological
game. You feel to safe inside without knowledge
that the outside exists.
Graham Evans
White Space: White space is a project
in representation that investigates how neutral
space acts as a transparent form of ideological
production. The project aims to make this spatial
production of value visible through photography,
design and the deconstruction of the logo.
Tansy Spinks
Dangerous liaisons: Tansy interested and
has a series called Dangerous liaisons using model
people on large saw blade or drowning in melted
chocolate bars.
Michael Cassidy
Ignorance & Bliss: Michaels
work is bland. It depicts a pointless search and
the retrospective denial that truth can be distorted
to create a palatable memory. A series of 8 pictures
capture combine digital illustrations with projected
super 8 cine loops to describe the same fictional
event 8 different times.

Lightboxes, triptych, no title:
"Isolation persists as a major problem of
contemporary urban society – I mean spiritual
isolation, the kind that plagues individuals even
on crowded city streets…for many, networks
and bulletin boards act as computer antidotes
to the atomism of society.
Unfortunately, what technology gives with one
hand, it often takes away with the other. Technology
increasingly eliminates direct human interdependence…because
machines provide us with the power to flit about
the universe, our communities grow more fragile,
airy and ephemeral, even as our connections multiply."
