Wally Lopez - Biog
Wally Lopez’s prolific rise and rise continues
unabated. His productions are defining the underground,
his trophy cabinet is bursting and he is rocking every
dancefloor he encounters.
Wally has joined the team at the coolest label around,
Underwater. A “Tribute to Acid House” is
Wally’s first release on Underwater Records and
will be out soon. Bugged Out records have re-released
Wally’s “Patricia never leaves the House”
which received more good reviews in UK DJ magazine and
Weekend Records have released “"Nixon tells
the truth/Drah"” by Wally with Cesar Del
Rio, which has received a raucous 4 stars in Muzik Mag
UK. Wally has also released the moody “I’m
coming to London” and the Underworld-esque “My
generation” on his own, La Factoria Records. Wally
has also recently done remixes for Yoshitoshi, Dirty
Vegas, Subliminal and a mega-remix for David Guetta.

This month Wally won the award for Best House DJ by
Spain’s DJ1 magazine, which is the same accolade
he was awarded by Spanish Deejay in 2002. He also won
the awards for Best Newcomer at the 2002 Ibiza DJ Awards
and for Best House DJ by Deejay Magazine in Spain.
Wally will be a resident for the Underwater parties
in Pacha Ibiza and at the End in London in 2003. He
has set up an exclusive bi-monthly residency at the
newly opened Pacha Barcelona, called Formula which will
include international guests programmed by Mr Lopez.
In 2003 he has already rocked dancefloors in Argentina,
New York, Miami, Budapest, Greece, Croatia and France,
all of which have already booked him to return.
This man is not afraid to work, and it is now starting
to show. He is releasing new material on a weekly basis
and pages are fast running out in his passport. The
Wally Lopez factory is just churning out the grooves
and should be hitting your shelves soon.
Wally Lopez can be regarded as one of the men responsible
for the current surge in the Spanish house scene. He
was born and currently lives in Madrid and started his
musical career at the early age of 13 on a local radio
station. Wally hosted the famous TOP RADIO sessions
for 5 years, broadcasting his live DJ sessions without
any interruptions by commercial adverts. Wally is currently
the host of a new project called SWINGFLAIX, broadcast
daily on the well-known national coverage Spanish radio
FLAIX FM.
His productions and DJ sessions have been applauded
by premier DJ’s such as Erick Morillo, Danny Tenaglia,
Pete Tong, Francesco Farfa and Steve Lawler whom was
quoted as saying “He is the man of Moment”.
Wally won the award for the best house record of the
year in 2001, with “Patricia never leaves the
house” by Deejay magazine, and in 2002 he was
nominated in the categories for “DJ of the Year”
and “Track of Year” for his release “Disco
Night” on Weekend Records. He was voted “Best
Newcomer” at this years Ibiza DJ Awards, and accolade
that has been giving to DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo
and Steve Lawler.
Wally has done more than 40 re-mixes this year alone,
for artists such as Robbie Rivera, Dirty Vegas, Ananda
Project and for Spanish pop icons such as Monica Naranjo
and Miguel Bose.
He has played in Pacha (Ibiza), Privilege (Ibiza), Dome
(Tel-aviv), Florida 135 (Huesca), Diabólica (Cannes),

Fluential, City Rockers, Bugged out, House Works, Milk
& Sugar and Vendetta. Wally also owns and runs his
own label called “LA FACTORIA DISCOS”.
