Club Softly Biog

Club Softly evolved through various guises dating back to 1994 before finally establishing itself in its permanent home of the Medicine Bar in 2000. Since then its Residents, Slacker’s Delight (aka Ollie & Bowen) have maintained Club Softly’s freshness by avoiding being tied to any one specific musical genre - their only prerequisite is that the music is always dirty & electronic.

Club Softly has also held nights in Barcelona & guarantees success by always maintaining strong links with visual arts, as well as living/dying by the rule that the party is as important as the music itself. Big names that have played include the likes of 2 Many DJs, Marc Almond, DJ Food, Scissor Sisters, Erol Alkan, DJ Hell, Etienne De Crecy, Jacques Lu Cont & Blackstrobe.

SOME TIMES ON A FIELD KICKIN A BALL \ Cinema dub Monks

Named in reverence to their favorite things, Cinema, Dub and Thelonious Monk. Live, the CINEMA dub MONKS create unique audio visual spaces with combinations mainly of upright bass, sampler, flute, and percussion accompanied by projected visual images on a screen. This recording is in essence a representation of their live show which evolved as they played gigs around Europe in 2002. A 33 minute sound track for a non-existent film.
